Coordination Balance of Payments and National Accounts

Export and import figures may differ in Statistics Sweden’s various statistical products in the Balance of Payments and the National Accounts. Estimates of foreign trade in services published as part of the Balance of Payments and the National Accounts may differ from the values published in the survey on foreign trade in services.

Work is underway to increase consistency between the real as well as the financial parts of the balance of payments and financial accounts.

Swedish portfolio assets increased abroad in the second half of 2025

2026-09-14

Swedish holdings in foreign portfolio assets increased during the second half of 2025 and amounted to SEK 11 486 billion at the end of the year, an increase of 7.5 percent compared with June 2025. Holdings in equity shares accounted for the largest increase, followed by investment fund shares. Long-term debt securities also increased, while short-term debt securities decreased during the period.
