Information about Statistics Sweden's Business Register
Statistics Sweden's Business Register includes all enterprises and workplaces in Sweden, regardless of legal form, industry and size.
Presentation of workplace numbers
The workplace numbers (AstNr) that are submitted in this survey are the same as those that will be used in the income statements. All information concerning individual enterprises submitted in the survey is treated as confidential according to Chapter 24, Section 8 of the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (2009:400). The information in the Business Register is regulated by the Ordinance on the General Business Register (1984:692).
There is an obligation to provide information for this survey according to the Official Statistics Act (2001:99). The statistics are also regulated according to the Official Statistics Ordinance (2001:100).
The information for workplace numbers is regulated by the Act concerning Establishment of Numbers and Related Matters (1984:533). The Obligation to provide information about workplace numbers is regulated by the tax procedure act (2011:1244).
The Business Register is regulated in the EU regulation on establishing a common frame for business registers (EC 177/2008), and Council Regulation (EEC) No 696/93 on statistical units.
Operations are regulated by the EC 1893/2006 regulation on NACE Revision 2.
