The purpose of this survey is to provide information to Sweden’s official statistics in the field of energy. The survey will collect data on the inflow of fuels to Sweden, the stocks and transportations of fuels within Sweden and the outflows of fuels from Sweden. The fuels studied are petroleum, biofuels and coals.

The survey includes every operator who handles amounts of 500 tons or more as for import, export, production and stocks in Sweden.

The main users of the statistics are the Swedish Energy Agency, oil companies, Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation, Statistics Sweden (national accounts and environmental statistics), trade associations, enterprises, Eurostat, OECD/IEA, UNECE.

The statistics are used as a basis for monthly follow up of supply and use of fuel for forecasts on energy supply, contingency planning, market analyses and for considerations concerning the goals and direction for energy policies. These statistics are used as a basis for reporting monthly and annual oil statistics and annual coal statistics (preliminary and definitive) to OECD/IEA, Eurostat and UNECE.
