    People in employment aged 15 to 74 numbered 5 150 000 in April 2024. This is a decrease of 5 000 people compared with April 2023. In the 20 to 65 age range, 277 000 people were unemployed. This equals a share of 5.4 percent expressed as a percentage of the labour force and is an increase of 0.5 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year.

  • Weaker labour market situation in March 2024

    People in employment aged 15 to 74 numbered 5 116 000 in March 2024, which is essentially unchanged compared to March 2023. In the 20 to 65 age range, 283 000 people were unemployed. This equals a share of 5.6 percent expressed as a percentage of the labour force and is an increase of 0.4 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year.

  • The subdued state of the labour market continues in February 2024

    People in employment aged 15 to 74 numbered 5 109 000 in February 2024. This is an increase of 4 000 people compared with February 2023. In the 20 to 65 age range, 283 000 people were unemployed. This equals a share of 5.6 percent expressed as a percentage of the labour force and is an increase of 0.4 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year.

  • The labour market remained subdued in January 2024

    People in employment aged 15 to 74 numbered 5 132 000 in January 2024. This is an increase of 11 000 people compared with January 2023. In the 20 to 64 age range, 274 000 people were unemployed. This equals a share of 5.5 percent expressed as a percentage of the labour force and is an increase of 0.4 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year.

  • Unemployment continues to increase in December 2023

    People in employment aged 15 to 74 numbered 5 192 000 in December 2023. This is an increase of 11 000 people compared with December 2022. In the 20 to 64 age range, 257 000 people were unemployed. This equals a share of 5.1 percent expressed as a percentage of the labour force and is an increase of 0.2 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year.
