  • Decreased borrowing in debt securities

    At the end of May, total liabilities in debt securities amounted to SEK 9 480 billion, down by SEK 64 billion from April.

    At the end of April, total liabilities in debt securities amounted to SEK 9 543 billion, up by SEK 116 billion from March. “The increase is primarily due to increased borrowing during April, with Sveriges riksbank and the government accounting for the largest increase,” says Hanna Helgesson, economist at Statistics Sweden.

    At the end of March, total liabilities in debt securities amounted to SEK 9 419 billion, down by SEK 143 billion from February. The decrease is mainly an effect of a stronger Swedish Crown in relation to foreign currencies.

    At the end of February, total liabilities in debt securities amounted to SEK 9 559 billion, down by SEK 165 billion from January. This decrease is mainly due to net maturities in money market instruments by the Government and the Sveriges Riksbank.

  • Increased borrowing in debt securities

    At the end of January, total liabilities in debt securities amounted to SEK 9 739 billion, up by SEK 437 billion from December. This increase is mainly due to issuance by monetary financial institutions.
