  • Household consumption decreased in May 2025

    Household consumption decreased by 1.2 percent in May 2025, measured in seasonally adjusted figures, compared with April 2025. Compared with May 2024, household consumption increased by 0.6 percent, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures. In the last three-month period, consumption increased by 1.6 percent compared with the same period a year ago, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures.

  • Retail sales volume decreased in May 2025

    The retail sales volume decreased by 4.8 percent in May 2025 compared with April 2025. Retail sales in durables decreased by 6.0 percent and retail sales in consumables (excluding Systembolaget, the state-owned chain of liquor stores) decreased by 2.8 percent. These figures are working-day and seasonally adjusted and calculated in constant prices.

  • Household consumption increased in April 2025

    Household consumption increased by 0.5 percent in April 2025, measured in seasonally adjusted figures, compared with March 2025. Compared with April 2024, household consumption increased by 2.7 percent, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures. In the last three-month period, consumption increased by 1.9 percent compared with the same period a year ago, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures.

  • Retail sales volume increased in April 2025

    The retail sales volume increased by 0.9 percent in April 2025 compared with March 2025. Retail sales in durables increased by 1.3 percent and retail sales in consumables (excluding Systembolaget, the state-owned chain of liquor stores) increased by 0.8 percent. These figures are working-day and seasonally adjusted and calculated in constant prices.

  • Household consumption decreased in March 2025

    Household consumption decreased by 0.4 percent in March 2025, measured in seasonally adjusted figures, compared with February 2025. Compared with March 2024, household consumption increased by 1.8 percent, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures. In the first quarter of the year, consumption increased by 1.5 percent compared with the same period a year ago, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures. Compared with the fourth quarter of 2024, consumption increased by 0.7 percent, measured in seasonally adjusted figures.
