This is one of the results in a report based on the Living Conditions Survey published by Statistics Sweden today.

  • Fewer smokers, more snuff users

The proportion of the population aged 16 and over who smoke every day has more than halved since the late 1980s. At the same time, the proportion who use snuff daily has increased, especially among women. This is one of several results from today's publication of Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (SILC) 2024.

  • Older women are diligent practitioners of culture

Women are more likely than men to engage in some kind of artistic hobby in their free time. And unlike men, this practice is significantly more common after the age of 65.

  • Social relations at its lowest among people 40-49 years old

6 out of 10 women and men aged 16 or older meet with a friend or relative with whom they do not live at least once a week. Among young people aged 16–19, it is 8 out of 10.
