  • Large Increase in the Number of Nominated Candidates in the Swedish EU Election

    At the beginning of June, 21 Swedish candidates were elected to the European Parliament. All Swedish political parties in the Riksdag were represented and 13 women and 8 men were elected. Just over 1 300 candidates were nominated for the European Parliament, which is the highest number ever in a Swedish EU election.

  • None of Sweden’s elected candidates younger than 30 or older than 64 years

    At the end of May, 20 Swedish candidates were elected to the European Parliament. All Swedish political parties in the Riksdag were represented and 11 women and 9 men were elected. None of the elected candidates was younger than 30 or older than 64 years and three quarters of the candidates were between 30 and 49 years.
