Greenhouses of the horticultural production
The statistics describe physical and production-related aspects of the greenhouses run within the Swedish horticultural production. We present areas, greenhouse age distribution, energy use by energy source, prevalence of some inventories and use of various pesticides.
The data is produced every third year and is presented by county and in some cases by product type or the size of the producing holdings (as measured by area).
The statistics cover all Swedish holdings with professional production of horticultural plants on at least 0,25 hectares of open ground or 200 square meters of greenhouse area. By ”horticultural plants” we mean vegetables, fresh herbs and pulses, fruit, berries and ornamental plants. In contrast, potatoes, dried or conserved herbs or pulses and nursery plants for forestry are not included.
