  • General elections

    European Parliament elections, election study

    The statistics show voter behaviour in European Parliament elections. The election survey (sometimes also referred to as the election behaviour survey or the voter survey) is carried out in cooperation between Statistics Sweden and the Department of Political Science at the University of Gothenburg.

    European Parliament elections, nominated and elected candidates

    The statistics show nominated, elected and not elected candidates by for example party, sex, age, income, education and country of birth.

    European Parliament elections, participation survey

    The statistics show election participation in different groups in society, broken down by for instance county, sex, age, income and civil status. Results supplement the vote count, which shows election participation overall and in different regions. The election participation survey is a sample survey.

    European Parliament elections, results

    The statistics cover information about those entitled to vote, those voting, the share of votes by party, the breakdown by personalised votes and the distribution of seats. The results are presented mainly at county and municipal level.

    General elections, nominated and elected candidates

    The statistics present nominated, elected and not elected candidates in the Riksdag, county and municipal council elections. The statistics cover information on party affiliation, sex, age, income, education, country of birth and country of citizenship.

    The statistics present voter participation in referenda in different groups in society, broken down by county, sex, age and income. Results supplement the vote count, which shows election participation overall and in different regions.

    Referenda, results

    The statistics present those entitled to vote, those voting and the breakdown of valid ballots by voting alternative. The 2003 referendum posed the question "Do you think the euro should be used as Sweden's currency?". The voting alternatives were "Yes" and "No". The results are presented at national, county and municipal level

    Survey of elected representatives in municipalities and county councils

    The Survey of Elected Representatives in Municipalities and County Councils has been carried out by Statistics Sweden in 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023.

    Survey of local democracy in municipalities and county councils

    The statistics present the steering majority, board organisation, party support and opportunities for collaboration, and are used to present the development and functioning of local democracy.

    Party Preference Survey (PSU)

    The statistics present "election results if an election were to be held today" and net flows between political parties and the breakdown of political party preferences by sex, age, civil status, income, region, status of employment, trade union membership, education level and foreign/Swedish background.
