In the 2019 European Parliament elections, 489 000 young people in Sweden will vote for the first time in a European Parliament election. Among these young people, 70 000 were not eligible to vote in the 2018 general elections. In total, 7.3 million Swedish citizens registered in Sweden may vote in the European Parliament election.

On 26 May 2019, barely nine months after the 2018 general elections, it will be time for a new national election in Sweden. This election aims to appoint Swedish Members of the European Parliament, who will sit in the European Parliament for the next five years.
