Fewer participants in Folk high schools

The number of participants has decreased for the second consecutive year across all three types of adult education courses within folk high schools. The largest decrease was among men in short courses, which in 2024 were 14 percent fewer than the year before.

Definitions and explanations

A person who is registered on at least one course in 2024, that is open to the public is counted as a participant.

Statistics on participants 2025 will be published in March 2026.

Statistics on the transition from the general course, eligibility years 2014–2023, will be published in December 2025.
