Innovation in the Government sector
The statistics illustrate innovation activities in the Government sector in Sweden. The survey covers, among other things, the occurrence of systematic innovation work at municipal and regional head offices as well as government agencies, innovations that have been introduced in public workplaces and the effects of such innovations. The statistics also describe the resources used for innovation activities and the objectives pursued by introducing innovation.

In total, 51 percent of workplaces in the Government sector were innovation active during 2021–2022. The largest share of innovation active workplaces was found in the regions, with 69 percent. Among non-innovation active workplaces during the period, a majority reported that they had no need for innovation activities.
