The fund assets decrease by 3.2 percent

At the end of the second quarter of 2023, the total fund assets in Swedish funds amounted to SEK 6 480 billion. This represents a decrease of SEK 210 billion, equivalent to 3.2%, compared to the previous quarter. The increase in fund assets that has been observed every quarter over the past year is thus being interrupted.
Third quarter in brief:
- The decrease in the total value of the investment funds is primarily driven by decreased equity investments. These have declined by 197 billion Swedish kronor, or 4 percent, from the previous quarter.
- The main decrease in share investments is within the sector of listed non-financial companies (SEK -81 billion).
- Investments in interest-bearing securities have increased from the previous quarter, mainly in bonds (SEK 18 billion).
- Total net investments amounted to SEK 10.5 billion.
- Mixed Funds and Other funds were the fund categorys with negative net investments overall, amounting to SEK -3.4 billion and SEK – 2.1 billion.
- Equity Funds had the highest total net investments, totaling SEK 9.3 billion.
- Net investments by foreign owners amounted to SEK 1.1 billion during the quarter.
The exchange rate of the Swedish krona
The average exchange rate for one Euro during the quarter was SEK 11.76 compared to SEK 11.46 in the previous quarter. The average exchange rate for one US dollar was SEK 10.81 compared to SEK 10.52 in the previous quarter.
Number of active funds in the statistics
During the second quarter, 3 new funds were added and 8 previously active funds were terminated or absorbed. In total, 842 active Swedish funds were listed, which is 5 less than the previous quarter.
