Investment funds 4th quarter, 2024

Fund assets increase by 4.0 percent

Statistical news from Statistics Sweden and Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority 2025-02-24 8.00

At the end of the fourth quarter of 2024, the total fund assets in Swedish funds amounted to SEK 8,243 billion. This is an increase of SEK 319 billion, corresponding to 4.0% compared to the previous quarter.

- This is the largest quarterly increase since the first quarter of 2024, when it was around 10 percent. The value change over the past quarter is partly due to some foreign funds merging with their corresponding Swedish funds, says Malcolm Svensson Rothmaier, economist at Statistics Sweden’s Financial Market Statistics section.

Important information

From the publication for the fourth quarter of 2024 onwards, the data has been enriched with custodian data to better describe household fund holdings, which were previously partly under financial corporations. Revisions of previously published series have been made up to and including the first quarter of 2024. As a result of this change, Statistics Sweden will not report transactions in fund units for households and financial corporations, as well as households' fund holdings in individual pension savings (IPS).
