Correction of agreed working hours

With the introduction of the EU Regulation 2019/1700 in January of 2021, the LFS questionnaire was changed. The question regarding agreed working hours in secondary jobs is no longer asked, as it is not requested by Eurostat. In 2021 and 2022, the reporting of average total (main- and secondary job) agreed working hours was not based on questions about agreed working time, but instead on questions regarding usual working time.

In connection with the publication of LFS September, agreed working time has been corrected, for the period January 2021 - August 2022. Agreed working hours is again (as before 2021) based on questions about agreed time - for those people who have such. For other employed persons, such as entrepreneurs and people working unpaid for family members, it is instead based on questions about usual working time.

Since there is currently no question regarding agreed working time in the secondary job, the total (main- and secondary job) agreed working time cannot be reported for the period 2021 and 2022.

From January 2023 and onwards, the question of agreed working hours in secondary jobs will be reintroduced and average total (main- and secondary jobs) agreed working hours will then be reported again, similar to before the new questionnaire was introduced.
