The Labour Cost Index (AKI) for the private sector in March 2020 was 124.2 for wage earners and 133.8 for salaried employees. Compared with March 2019, labour costs have decreased by 3.5 percent for wage earners and increased by 0.6 percent for salaried employees.

Total labour costs include pay for hours worked, pay for hours not worked, other cash payments and payments in kind, costs for additional pension benefits, other collective fees, contributions to health insurance schemes, contributions to national basic supplementary pension schemes, sick pay, and a special payroll tax.
