Swedens population 2015:

Despite many asylum seekers in 2015, refugee immigration not affected significantly

Statistical news from Statistics Sweden 2016-03-18 9.30

During 2015, slightly less than 163 000 persons sought asylum in Sweden, which was twice as many as in 2014.

Because most of the asylum seekers came during the autumn and are still waiting for a residence permit, the time has been too short for them to make an imprint in the statistics on refugee immigration. As a result, refugee immigration only increased by four percent and amounted to 33 500 persons.
