The inflation rate according to the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) was 2.3 percent in September 2017, unchanged from August. The CPIF rose by 0.2 percent from August to September 2017. In the corresponding period last year, the CPIF rose by 0.2 percent. The inflation rate according to the CPI was 2.1 percent in September 2017.
The rise in the CPI from August to September 2017 was mainly due to a rise in prices for clothing (5.0 percent), which contributed 0.2 percentage point. Price increases in electricity, gas and other fuels (1.8 percent) and restaurants and hotels (0.8 percent) contributed 0.1 percentage point each.
The increase was offset by a price decrease on food (-0.4 percent), transport services (-2.0 percent) and recreation and culture (-1.0 percent), which contributed downward by 0.1 percentage point each.
The CPI for September 2017 was 323.62 (1980=100).
The inflation rate according to the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was 2.2 percent in September 2017, unchanged from August. The HICP rose by 0.1 percent from August to September 2017. In the corresponding period last year, the HICP rose by 0.2 percent.
