Inflation rate according to CPIF was 1.3 percent in September

The inflation rate according to the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) was 1.3 percent in September 2019, unchanged from August. The CPIF increased by 0.5 percent from August to September, which is the same monthly change as in the corresponding period last year. The inflation rate according to the CPI was 1.5 percent in September 2019.
Higher prices on clothing (7.6 percent) contributed 0.3 percentage points upwards to the change from August to September. Price increases on accommodation services (7.5 percent), furnishing and household goods (1.0 percent), and on miscellaneous goods and services (0.7 percent) affected the CPI upwards by an additional 0.1 percentage point each.
These increases were offset mainly by price decreases on package holidays (-3.7 percent), vegetables (-3.6 percent) and transport (-0.6 percent), which contributed downwards to the CPI by 0.1 percentage point each. The decreases in the group of transports were driven mainly by lower prices on international flights (-8.7 percent) and rental cars (-15.7 percent).
The CPI for September 2019 was 335.95 (1980=100).
The inflation rate according to the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was 1.3 percent, unchanged from August. The HICP increased by 0.5 percent from August to September. In the corresponding period last year, the HICP also increased by 0.5 percent.
