The survey is intended to improve our knowledge concerning goods shipments within our economy, and to provide an overall picture of its needs in terms of moving goods within Sweden and abroad. It will be possible to break these statistics down both regionally and by the industries that are generating the commodity flows, and by the types of goods being shipped. The commodity flows are measured in the form of goods volumes and commodity values, both in total and broken down by type of transport used, commodity type and cargo type.

The statistics describe the consequences of road traffic in Sweden in the form of police-reported accidents and injuries involving at least one moving vehicle.

The survey encompasses Swedish-registered lorries with a maximum load of 3.5 tonnes or more. Data is gathered via an EU-regulated questionnaire survey aimed at approximately 12 000 Swedish-registered lorries per year that transport goods by road. The results are reported every quarter as well as for each full year.
