    People in employment aged 15 to 74 numbered 5 317 000 in August 2024. This is a decrease of 19 000 people compared with August 2023. In the 20 to 65 age range, 280 000 people were unemployed. This equals a share of 5.4 percent expressed as a percentage of the labour force and is an increase of 0.6 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year.

  • The subdued state of the labour market continues in July 2024

    People in employment aged 15 to 74 numbered 5 367 000 in July 2024. This is a decrease of 18 000 people compared with July 2023. In the 20 to 65 age range, 267 000 people were unemployed. This equals a share of 5.2 percent expressed as a percentage of the labour force and is an increase of 0.5 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year.

    People in employment aged 15 to 74 numbered 5 257 000 in June 2024. This is a decrease of 10 000 people compared with June 2023. In the 20 to 65 age range, 266 000 people were unemployed. This equals a share of 5.2 percent expressed as a percentage of the labour force and is an increase of 0.5 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year.

    People in employment aged 15 to 74 numbered 5 173 000 in May 2024. This is a decrease of 12 000 people compared with May 2023. In the 20 to 65 age range, 271 000 people were unemployed. This equals a share of 5.3 percent expressed as a percentage of the labour force and is an increase of 0.4 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year.
