  • Retail sales volume nearly unchanged in May 2024

    The retail sales volume increased by 0.2 percent in May 2024 compared with April 2024. Retail sales in durables increased by 0.7 percent while retail sales in consumables (excluding Systembolaget, the state-owned chain of liquor stores) decreased by 0.2 percent. These figures are working-day and seasonally adjusted and calculated in fixed prices.

  • Restaurant sales increased in first quarter of 2024

    The sales volume increased in half of the restaurant categories during the first quarter of 2024 compared with the same period a year ago. The largest increase in sales volume was among hotel restaurants, while the largest decrease in sales volume was among cafés.

  • Household consumption decreased in April 2024

    Household consumption decreased by 0.4 percent in April 2024, measured in seasonally adjusted figures, compared with March 2024. Compared with April 2023, household consumption decreased by 0.7 percent, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures. In the last three-month period, consumption increased by 0.2 percent compared with the same period a year ago, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures.

These figures are working-day and seasonally adjusted and calculated in fixed prices.

  • Household consumption increased in March 2024

    Household consumption increased by 0.5 percent in March 2024, measured in seasonally adjusted figures, compared with February 2024. Compared with March 2023, household consumption increased by 1.2 percent, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures. In the last three-month period, consumption increased by 0.4 percent compared with the same period a year ago, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures.
