In 2021, the average rent increased by 1.4 percent, which is less than 1.9 percent a year ago. The average monthly rent for a three-room apartment is SEK 7 520.

Over the past ten years, the rent increase has varied from 0.8 percent to 2.8 percent. In 2021, the rent increase is 1.4 percent, which is less than the increase in the last two years.

SEK 7 520 in rent for a three-room apartment

In 2021, the average monthly rent for a three-room apartment is SEK 7 520. A two-room apartment costs SEK 6 081 per month. The average monthly rent for a one-room apartment is SEK 4 410 and SEK 9 621 for an apartment with four or more rooms.

The table below shows the average monthly rent for a three-room apartment in different regions. Rent levels are lower in small municipalities than in metropolitan areas and large municipalities.

These statistics describe rents and changes in rents for rental dwellings. Rents are broken down by region, number of rooms, year of construction, and type of ownership. Rents for dwellings is an annual survey based on a national sample of rented dwellings. The sample includes approximately 15 500 dwellings.
