The impact of the coronavirus crisis on the Swedish economy was substantial in the second quarter. GDP fell by 8.3 percent, seasonally adjusted, which is the largest decline in at least 40 years. There was a broad downturn in the economy and both domestic demand and foreign trade fell sharply. Steeply reduced exports made the largest downward contribution to GDP development.
