Living Conditions Survey of Children
The living conditions survey of children is a survey to describe everyday experiences of young people aged 12–18. In the survey we ask questions about school, what they do in their spare time, about their well-being and relations. The survey targets about 30 000 randomly chosen children in Sweden. The survey has been conducted since 2001 and is one of few surveys where young people themselves can express their views.
No child is obligated to take part in the survey, but every answer is important. The data collected is requested by both researchers and policy makers. To avoid asking more questions than necessary, the answers to these survey questions are combined with information about the parents, such as the parents' occupation, education, and household living conditions.
