Wild boar still the most common cause for damage on crops

2024-06-18

The total amount of damage by wildlife was lower in 2023 compared to the latest survey in 2020, but higher than in 2014. Compared to 2020, the damages in cereal-crops were 13 percent lower in 2023 on a national level. Out of the total cereal harvest, 142 800 tonnes were destroyed by wildlife in 2023 compared to 164 600 tonnes in 2020. Compared to 2014, the damages in cereal-crops were 62 percent higher on a national level.
