Most holiday home areas along the coast
Holiday home areas are found above all along the Swedish coast, concentrated to the coastal areas of Stockholm, Halland and Västra Götaland Counties. Several areas are also found in Central Sweden and the southern mountain range. Holiday homes are more thinly dispersed in parts of Småland and the inland of upper Norrland.
Definitions and explanations
A holiday home area consists of at least 50 holiday homes and the distance between them is 150 metres at most. Holiday homes in this survey are above all buildings that have type code 211 in the Real Estate Taxation Register (one- or two-dwelling unit, undeveloped land for holiday homes), 213 (one- or two-dwelling unit, building value <SEK 50 000) or 221 (one- or two-dwelling unit, holiday home). Only holiday homes outside of urban areas are included in this demarcation of holiday home areas.
