The quarter in brief

• In the third quarter of 2023, insurance and occupational pension companies' holdings in shares and participations decreased from SEK 4,944 billion to SEK 4,784 billion, equivalent to a decrease of 3.2 percent.
• The net transactions for shares and participations amounted to SEK -6.3 billion during the current quarter.

Life insurance and occupational pension companies

• Increase in money market instruments: Money market instruments increased from SEK 52.7 billion to SEK 63.8 billion, representing an increase of SEK 11.1 billion or 21% from the previous quarter.
• Increase in derivatives: Derivatives increased from SEK 17.7 billion to SEK 21.4 billion, representing an increase of SEK 3.7 billion or 20% from the previous quarter.
• Increase in cash at bank and in hand: Cash at bank and in hand increased from SEK 109.2 billion to SEK 120.4 billion, representing an increase of SEK 11.2 billion or 10% from the previous quarter.

Non-life insurance companies

• Increase in derivatives: Derivatives increased from SEK 336 million to SEK 505 million, an increase of SEK 169 million or 50% from the previous quarter.
• Increase in accrued interest: Accrued interest increased from SEK 1.4 billion to SEK 1.8 billion, an increase of SEK 0.4 billion or 26% from the previous quarter.
• Decrease in other financial investments: Other financial investments decreased from SEK 9.1 billion to SEK 1.4 billion, a decrease of SEK 7.7 billion or 84% from the previous quarter.
