Statistics Sweden annually publishes a population projection for the country. Assumptions and results are described in the report The future population of Sweden 2024–2070 (Demographic reports 2024:1).

How is Sweden's population affected if childbearing, immigration, emigration and mortality develop in a different way than assumed in the main report?

This report presents the results of six alternative projections for Sweden. In one of the alternatives, the birth rate, immigration, emigration and mortality remain at today's level. The other alternative projections are combinations of assumptions that give a higher, lower or older population than in the main report.
