The inflation rate according to the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) was 2.2 percent in June 2018, up from 2.1 percent in May 2018. The CPIF increased by 0.3 percent from May to June. In the corresponding period last year, the CPIF increased by 0.1 percent. The inflation rate according to the CPI was 2.1 percent in June 2018.
Price increases on package holidays (26.2 percent) contributed 0.3 percentage point to the change from May to June. Higher prices on international flights (26.8 percent) and electricity (5.5 percent) contributed 0.2 percentage point each.
These increases were offset by a price decrease on clothing (-5.2 percent), which contributed 0.2 percentage point downward. Lower prices for food (-0.7 percent), district heating (-13.5 percent) and audio-visual, photographic and information processing equipment (-5.8 percent) affected the CPI downwards by 0.1 percentage point each in June.
The CPI for June 2018 was 328.62 (1980=100).
The inflation rate according to the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was 2.1 percent in June 2018, up from 2.0 percent in May. The HICP increased by 0.2 percent from May to June. In the corresponding period last year, the HICP increased by 0.1 percent.
