Household consumption increased in November 2021

Household consumption increased by 1.0 percent in November 2021 compared with October 2021, measured in seasonally adjusted figures, calculated in fixed prices and working day adjusted. Compared with November 2020, household consumption increased by 8.3 percent, measured in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures. In the last three-month period, consumption increased by 6.2 percent in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures, compared with the same period a year ago.
All of the sectors made positive contributions to the annual growth rate. The largest weighted contribution came from the sector restaurants, cafes, hotels and other accommodation services, which increased by 63.8 percent in fixed prices compared with November a year ago.
The COVID-19 outbreak started to significantly impact household consumption in March 2020, which should be taken into account when comparing annual development statistics.
Prices increased by 2.9 percent according to the consumption deflator.
