The statistics present nominated, elected and not elected candidates in the Riksdag, county and municipal council elections. The statistics cover information on party affiliation, sex, age, income, education, country of birth and country of citizenship.

More common to leave regional councils

2024-01-19

Almost seven percent of those elected to Swedish regional councils in 2022 left office within a year. In the municipal councils five percent left and in the Riksdag two percent of those elected left office during the same period. It was more common for young politicians to drop out and in the regional councils Sweden democrats dropped out to the greatest extent.
