Labour Force Surveys (LFS)

Official statistics of Sweden

Upcoming publishing: 2025-01-24

The statistics describe labour market developments for the Swedish population aged 15–74. The LFS shows the number and percentage of employed and unemployed persons respectively, per month, quarter and year. It is the only source of continuous data on total unemployment and represents the official unemployment rate.

2024-11-15: Information about the trade union central organisation

In September 2023, a format error was created in a variable related to union affiliation. This happened in connection with a system change to be able to handle interviews both via telephone and online collection. Despite a correct union affiliation, people were not linked to any central organisation. It was the central organisation LO that was affected, which led to the number of individuals being underestimated. The error has now been fixed and concerns the period September 2023 to September 2024.
