Swedish economy – statistical perspective, no 10 2023

A stagnant economy

Statistical news from Statistics Sweden 2023-10-13 8.00

Most indicators are currently pointing sideways. This means that growth is non-existent or weak. The GDP-indicator has been at roughly the same level since the end of 2021. A glimmer of light was seen in August when both industrial production and household consumption rose for the second consecutive month. Seen over a longer period of time, however, these indicators have been on a weak trend. Further information can be found in Statistics Sweden’s periodical, “Sveriges ekonomi – statistiskt perspektiv” (in Swedish).
